THC-Infused Liquor

THC-Infused Liquor

The first thing that you don’t do is stuff a whole bunch of weed in a bottle and hope for the best. What you will end up with may or may not get you high. There is no finesse in this method, thus I do not recommend it.

What I do recommend doing is decarbing your cannabis first. This method of applying heat in a closed container. The heat should be set between 230 and 260 degrees for at least an hour. This is called decarbing. The THCa is converted to THC using this methodology. It is essential to decarb before you infuse cannabis into your liquor.

Be careful consuming and serving this infused liquor. Ask me, I know what can happen when unsuspecting drinkers find themselves blotto on cannabis libations. I call this activity the lack of common-sense. But you may see it otherwise. It’s not up to me to police you. Just don’t plan on using anything with wheels after mixing cannabis cocktails for yourself.

Just don’t do it.

This recipe is incredibly easy to make, but requires very careful attention to detail for safety. Never leave this infusion unattended, and don’t use any open flames or smoke during the process. ***Be extremely careful with this infusion. Do not let the liquor reach 170° F, as this is the point that alcohol can combust.***

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle (750ml.) Liquor of your choice

  • ¼ oz. DECARBED cannabis of your choice

  • Double Boiler

  • Hot Plate - if using alcohol - do not use your gas stove!

Instructions

  1. Add the decarbed cannabis to a double boiler along with your chosen liquor.

  2. Heat to 160 degrees and replace water in the double boiler as necessary for two hours.

  3. Let the liquor cool and then strain with a fine mesh or cheesecloth.

  4. Use in all drinks that need a little extra “kick”.
