Nearly 1 million cannabis plants seized during California crackdown

During a statewide crackdown on the illegal cannabis industry, about one million marijuana plants were seized in California.

The Campaign Against Marijuana Planting (CAMP) program of the California Department of Justice was in charge of the operation.

According to the California Attorney General's Office, during the 2022 program, authorities in the state recovered over 200,000 pounds of illegally processed cannabis and approximately one million illegally grown cannabis plants.

Over the course of 449 operations, counties in Northern, Central, and Southern California were targeted. Authorities took about 67,000 pounds of production infrastructure, including dams, water lines, and containers of dangerous chemicals, in addition to 184 weapons and illicit cannabis.
