David Burd AKA Lil Dicky has been on the cultural radar for years now, but his style and approach have never been so well thought out than now. His show on FX or streaming with Hulu is smart, and plays to an audience that can relate. A series of quips, references, and neurotic broach of life’s most pronounced insecurities makes for a fast paced comedy that feels like life these days. The musical element is spot on, and Lil Dicky is in full character to make the separation between him and Dave clear. Art imitates life and life imitates art; this makes for excellent viewing with the laughs rooted in thought and the rest rooted in life. The inability to grasp the scope of humor is only fixed by watching the show, a favorite has been Season 1, Episode 3, in which sex is approached in the most hilarious of ways in a modern sitcom. This show is fun for anyone who has a love of good music that offers comedy in equal dose, catch a new episode on Thursdays.
