Black Sails, created by Jonathan E. Steinberg and Robert Levine, proposes a possible prequel to the novel Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson. We meet famous characters like Captain Flint, Long John Silver and Billy Bones during this time of unsettlement and the different obstacles both on and off the pirate ship.
The conflicts between the crew and the political situation in the Caribbean makes it a series that illustrates very well the problems that pirates may have faced between themselves and between the different crowns that dominated the naval world at the time, England and Spain. The actors do a fantastic job and really get you into their shoes when these conflicts occur and the dilemmas they face.
