Different cannabis strains rotate in the dispensaries frequently and the flowers come from many farms and indoor grows from around the state. It’s hard to keep up with all of the smaller growers and sometimes patients find a strain or farm they like, only to find it discontinued at the dispensary. Customers are looking for quality brands they can count on consistently rather than as a one time purchase. One indoor operation that has just expanded to serve more dispensaries and patients in the valley is G3, Green Gene Genetics. The guys we met with at G3 have been shaping the underground cannabis community for decades.

TJ Shea heads up the grow and cultivation with an amazing team behind him. TJ is a long time NorCal grower who moved to Scottsdale to open up Shea’s hydroponics when the medical program in Arizona started. He supplied all the home growers with lights, nutrients and knowledge until the twenty-five mile rule went into effect. That shut down the shop because all the growers had to go away. It’s unfortunate that we are not permitted to grow our own medicine by law but we can buy it all day from state licensed facilities. That’s another conversation altogether. Anyway, TJ went from running a hydroponic shop to consulting and setting up new grow rooms for license holders in Phoenix. Now he has found a home in his own operations here at G3.

Jonny B is known across the nation for innovative smoking accessories and his cannabis business prowess. He created the NoGoo silicone nonstick containers and mats as well as the Digger, the first serrated dugout one hitter. His products can be found in smoke shops across the globe. For fun, he loves playing with his classic cars and tearing up his all-terrain vehicles out in the desert. Jonny keeps it simple, he just loves making people happy by selling them good weed!

Brett Pastrick is the CEO of G3 who is always keeping an eye out for new top shelf genetics. Together, they are still building out ten more grow rooms with their own hands to achieve about 60,000 square feet of operational space. Bret loves traveling and sourcing new genetics around the globe. When he’s not working he can be found outdoors on the ski slopes or appreciating art in different cities.

G3 flower can be found at all Mint Dispensaries, Urban Greenhouse, Nirvana Center, Curaleaf, The Phoenix Dispensary, Green Med and Purple Med in Tucson and Emerald Dispensaries. They are in the process of releasing their new extracts line called GenXtracts that will focus on solventless products made from their top shelf flower. Coming this summer in stores across the valley is the prepackaged flower and nug run joints. The nug run prerolls will be filled with their rotating top shelf flavors. We have been enjoying their Peanut Butter Breath and Sunset Sherbert lately. The Jet Fuel and G4 have been especially wonderful as well. Each of these are highly recommended and you will recognize the new packaging starting this month.

The flower grown by the team at G3 will be available in most stores by the end of the year. They know they have to keep up with demand for recreational use but also with quality in order to build a solid foundation with consumers. Jonny B says most operations have the wrong mindset, they grow for dough instead of for show.
